How to use this tool

Estimate = Mifflin–St Jeor resting energy × your activity-factor assumption. FAO habitual PAL categories: light 1.40–1.69, moderately active 1.70–1.99, vigorous 2.00–2.40.

Limits and behavior

No automatic activity diagnosis, weight-loss target or diet prescription. PAL is formally a BMR multiple, so applying it to a predicted resting value adds uncertainty. Not suitable for children, pregnancy, lactation, acute illness or individualized clinical decisions. These population equations may perform differently across ethnicities, muscularity and health conditions. Inputs remain in your browser. Input is limited to 1 MB and output to 3 MB. Estimate daily energy expenditure

Calculate a general daily energy estimate by combining a resting expenditure calculation with an explicit activity factor.

Is the calculated calorie amount a personalized diet prescription?

No. Individual metabolism, activity, illness and body composition vary; it is only a general estimate.
