Limits and behavior
Reports decoded permission flags; these are document policy flags, not a security guarantee. Local processing. Maximum 10 MB per file, 25 MB total and 100 PDF pages. Encrypted PDFs require the separate known-password decryption tool. Digitally signed input may lose signature validity after any modification; preserve your original. Unsupported or malformed files produce an error. Cancellation stops active PDF renders and discards stale results; a synchronous library step finishes before the browser can handle cancellation.
View restrictions declared by a PDF file
Inspect permission flags embedded in a PDF to see the access controls declared by its author. This can help explain restrictions indicated by some PDF viewers.
Are PDF permission flags a guarantee that content is protected?
No. Declared restrictions and actual enforcement vary across software. Permission flags are not a substitute for appropriate encryption and access controls.
