Limits and behavior
Exports one DOCX per Heading 1 section plus any preamble in a ZIP. Paragraph text and heading levels are retained; images/tables/styles are not reproduced. Local processing. Maximum 10 MB per file, 25 MB total; expanded ZIP contents at most 50 MB and 2,000 entries. Spreadsheet limit: 10,000 cells and 2,000 rows per sheet. Macros are never executed. Originals are unchanged. Cancellation stops active PDF renders and discards stale results; a synchronous library step finishes before the browser can handle cancellation.
Create separate DOCX documents from heading sections
Use top-level headings in an existing DOCX to divide a longer document into smaller files. Useful for separating chapters or sections.
Will this tool split a file with no heading styles?
It relies on recognized top-level headings. Documents without compatible heading structure may need formatting first.
