How to use
Choose whole-pixel padding per side and its color. Add AA for alpha, for example #00000000 for transparent.
Limits and behavior
Original image pixels and alpha remain unchanged; the color fills the new outer area only. Still PNG, JPEG and WebP only, up to 20 MB, 4 megapixels and 4,096 pixels per side. Animated PNG/WebP are rejected. Processing and downloads stay on your device. Browser decoding applies EXIF orientation; exports do not preserve EXIF, DPI or original color-profile metadata. PNG preserves transparency; JPEG flattens it onto white. WebP export requires a browser encoder and is checked before download.
Add custom margins to a photo or graphic
Add separate padding values to each side of an image. This gives a photo more breathing room or prepares a graphic for a layout that needs extra surrounding space.
Is padding the same as resizing?
No. Padding expands the canvas around the existing picture. Resizing changes the dimensions of the image content.
