How to use

100% is neutral; 0% makes visible pixels mid-gray. Higher values increase contrast.

Limits and behavior

Uses (channel − 127.5) × strength + 127.5 and clips values. Alpha is preserved. Still PNG, JPEG and WebP only, up to 20 MB, 4 megapixels and 4,096 pixels per side. Animated PNG/WebP are rejected. Processing and downloads stay on your device. Browser decoding applies EXIF orientation; exports do not preserve EXIF, DPI or original color-profile metadata. PNG preserves transparency; JPEG flattens it onto white. WebP export requires a browser encoder and is checked before download.

Improve tonal contrast in an image

Change how strongly light and dark values differ in a photo. Higher contrast can make edges look stronger; lower contrast produces a flatter effect.

Does high contrast always improve image quality?

No. Too much contrast can obscure highlight or shadow detail and exaggerate color differences.
