How to use

Output = 255 × (channel / 255)^(1/gamma). Gamma above 1 brightens, below 1 darkens.

Limits and behavior

A display-channel adjustment, not a change to embedded color-profile metadata. Alpha is preserved. Still PNG, JPEG and WebP only, up to 20 MB, 4 megapixels and 4,096 pixels per side. Animated PNG/WebP are rejected. Processing and downloads stay on your device. Browser decoding applies EXIF orientation; exports do not preserve EXIF, DPI or original color-profile metadata. PNG preserves transparency; JPEG flattens it onto white. WebP export requires a browser encoder and is checked before download.

Adjust photo midtones with gamma

Apply a power-law gamma correction to decoded RGB values for brighter or darker midtone rendering.

Is gamma adjustment the same as changing exposure?

No. Gamma changes channel response curves; exposure usually scales linear-light values.
