How to use
Choose an integer radius. The square kernel has side length 2 × radius + 1.
Limits and behavior
Uses a separable box blur, repeated edge pixels and premultiplied alpha to avoid hidden-color halos. This is not Gaussian blur. Still PNG, JPEG and WebP only, up to 20 MB, 4 megapixels and 4,096 pixels per side. Animated PNG/WebP are rejected. Processing and downloads stay on your device. Browser decoding applies EXIF orientation; exports do not preserve EXIF, DPI or original color-profile metadata. PNG preserves transparency; JPEG flattens it onto white. WebP export requires a browser encoder and is checked before download.
Soften an entire image with blur
Adjust a whole-image box blur radius to reduce sharpness. This is helpful for backgrounds and visual mockups where fine details are distracting.
Can blur securely hide private information in images?
No. Blurred content may still be recoverable or legible. Use irreversible redaction and remove sensitive pixels before sharing.
