How to use

The output is original + amount × (original − 3×3 box blur), clipped to valid channel values.

Limits and behavior

Alpha is preserved. High amounts may cause halos; this does not reconstruct missing detail. Still PNG, JPEG and WebP only, up to 20 MB, 4 megapixels and 4,096 pixels per side. Animated PNG/WebP are rejected. Processing and downloads stay on your device. Browser decoding applies EXIF orientation; exports do not preserve EXIF, DPI or original color-profile metadata. PNG preserves transparency; JPEG flattens it onto white. WebP export requires a browser encoder and is checked before download.

Enhance perceived edge sharpness in photos

Apply an unsharp mask to increase the contrast around image edges. Useful for modest correction of soft-looking graphics and photos.

Can sharpening restore details that were never captured?

No. Sharpening changes perceived edge contrast and may also amplify artifacts or noise.
