How to use

Choose a 3×3 or 5×5 neighborhood. Each RGB channel receives its neighborhood median.

Limits and behavior

Alpha is preserved; edge neighborhoods are clipped. Fine detail can be lost. This is not AI denoising. Still PNG, JPEG and WebP only; 20 MB, 4 megapixels and 4,096 pixels per side. Processing stays on your device. Exports apply orientation and discard source metadata. PNG output preserves transparency unless the selected operation composites it.

Reduce salt-and-pepper style image noise

Use a local median filter to reduce isolated speckles and impulse noise. This can help images with small, scattered pixel artifacts.

Will denoising repair all blurry or grainy photos?

No. A median filter is primarily suited to certain noise patterns and can also soften fine details.
